NO SHOWs

No-Show/ Cancellation policy: You must notify us 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or you will be charged a $100 no show/cancellation fee. If you have a number of no shows in a short time frame you may be required to do an attendance contract and could potentially be discharged from our practice. It is important to call and reschedule in a reasonable time frame. Insurance companies would not cover for missed appointment fees.

REFILLS

Refills will be handled during scheduled appointments unless there is an emergency cancellation. You will have enough medication to last until your next appointment and will only have refills if that appointment is more than 30 days away. To decrease confusion, we do not accept refill requests from pharmacies. If there is an emergency, please contact us directly leaving your name, number, and what medication you are requesting. We cannot do early refills on controlled substances, even if they are lost or stolen. Thank you for your cooperation!

CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES/ STIMULANTS CONSENTS

Medications such as benzodiazepines and stimulants are strongly regulated and monitored by the DEA. These medications can be very useful when indicated, but require more frequent monitoring and must be part of the comprehensive treatment plan.

 –   Controlled substances will not be refilled early and can not be refilled without an appointment. Healing Realm Psychiatry Wellness participates in checking the Texas Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) each visit for overuse/misuse of controlled substances. The Drug Enforcement Authority (DEA) has proposed new rules for prescription of medications via telemedicine.

–  For our NP to prescribe Schedule II, III medication such as stimulants or control substances, clients must see a medical practitioner in person for evaluation before prescription can be filled. All new clients must fill out our consent form and sign before each visit.

FINANCIAL

Frequently Asked Questions

My name is Esther Aruna, and I am a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner working with adolescent and adult clients. I provide psychiatric evaluations and medication management for clients with depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, eating disorders, grief from loss and acute stress. I believe that a partnership between me and my client is essential to successful treatment. Using medications, when appropriate, and connecting my clients to quality therapists, I believe my clients needs can be met and their wellness goals achieved.

From each encounter, my clients should expect a safe environment to be heard, respected and leave each session with a clear understanding of what the plan is for treatment and where they are on their treatment journey. I get it; life can be quite overwhelming sometimes. It takes a lot of courage to seek help, and since you are here, I applaud you for taking the first step towards keeping hope alive. I am committed to creating a no-judgment zone, while facilitating your healing and ultimately, improving your mental wellness and being.

I focus on the psychological, social and cultural needs of my patients as we work collaboratively to formulate a treatment plan. I value providing empathetic, kind, and culturally sensitive care, and medication management if indicated. I like to meet each patient where they are in their journey, and play my part towards reaching mutually formulated goals. I also practice an hollistic care model with my clients. I strives to practice a philosophy of holistic care seeking to reconnect mind, body and soul while providing quality care and services for a diverse and inclusive population.

Treatment begins with an Intake Interview; this is a time of information gathering, deep review of symptoms you may be experiencing, review of your history and a chance for you to share anything you feel important that would give insight to what should be considered for your treatment. Please note, medications are not usually initiated at an intake appointment. Using information from your intake interview- we will determine a diagnosis based on DSM-V criteria. A diagnosis is not set in stone; diagnosis can be updated as more information is revealed. Evidence-based guidelines are then used to guide treatment. Medication Evaluation and Medication Management appointments follow intake appointments.

Previous patients have described Esther as caring, attentive, someone who actually listens… rest assured, you will be heard. My clients are involved in their plan of care and treatment and I respect their privacy.

We have a concierge model of care for those without health insurance. We accept credit card and cash payments. Payment is due in full 1 day prior to your visit. Learn more about our payment plan during your free 20 min consultation.

At Healing Realm Psychiatry Wellness, we offer free one-time 15-minute video or telephone. Consultation where you will have the opportunity to ask any questions about our practice.
